Frequently Asked Questions
We've put together the most common cheese and charcuterie questions we get. Click on any of the accordion tabs below for more information. Don't see what you're looking for? Drop us an email! We're always happy to talk.
Can you accommodate nut allergies?
Absolutely! We can easily adapt our tables for nut allergies, whether you want to contain them to bowls or remove them from the table entirely. When nut allergies are known, we substitute with items like crunchy roasted chickpeas or edamame. We also use crackers and breads that are nut-free.
Do you offer gluten-free options?
Yes, we always have gluten-free options. All grazes will include them, clearly marked and separated out from other items to prevent cross-contamination. If you need gluten-free crackers for smaller boards, please just let us know when ordering.
Can I pick my own cheeses?
Our boards and grazes always feature a range of cheese, in both textures and flavor profiles. That said, we’re happy to source specific cheeses at your request but please note, it may change your price.
Can I pick my own charcuterie?
We have access to a range of options and we typically pair our charcuterie to the cheeses on our boards. If it’s a charcuterie we can source, we’re happy to customize your boards with specific requests!
I don’t eat meat. Can I order a board with no charcuterie?
Yes! We’re happy to provide all-cheese boards. Your price will remain the same, and we’ll either add another type of cheese, or increase the servings of the cheeses on your board to compensate.
Do you offer any options for Vegans?
We do! There are some really good vegan cheeses available these days. Plus, we offer items like house-made hummus and roasted balsamic mushrooms to provide more “oomph” on your board. Vegan boards do require a little more notice to ensure we can get everything in time.
Can you accommodate a request for Kosher foods?
Sort of. We can make a board that adheres to Kosher standards but we are not a kosher kitchen.
What kind of boards do you use?
All of our pre-arranged boards are delivered on eco-friendly, sustainably-sourced disposable palm leaf boards. Our graze set-ups use a variety of real wooden boards, baskets, and risers. We wash and oil our boards after every event to keep them in top-notch condition.
Can you build on a board I already own?
We’re happy to build on a board you own! You’ll need to arrange to bring us the board ahead of time so we can build and deliver it back to you by the time of your event.
How many people does each board serve?
Our Small board feeds approx. 6-9 people, the Medium board feeds approx. 10-14 people, our large board feeds approx. 15-19 people, and our XL feeds approx. 20-25 people. Please note these are for light appetizer portions (3-5 bites per person).
How many people can your graze tables serve?
Our grazes are designed to have heartier portions per person, so the number of guests they feed depends on the time of your event and whether you have other food present. Generally speaking, we size our Mini Graze for 15-20 people, our Medium Grazes for 30 people, and our Fullsize Graze tables begin at 40 people.
What’s the difference between a graze board and a graze table?
Our graze boards are arranged in advance, come on eco-friendly and sustainably sourced palm leaf trays, and are easily disposable. They are designed to be light appetizers on your table, not the main meal.
Our graze tables use real wooden boards, risers, and baskets, are sized for heartier portions per person, and require additional set-up time before your event begins.
What is a tiered graze table display?
A tiered graze display, also called an elevated graze display, uses risers and baskets with real boards and platters on them to create varying heights on your table. This helps create visual interest on the table and lends itself to a more beautiful aesthetic.
How long does it take you to set up for a graze table?
This depends on the size of your graze. A Mini Graze can be set-up in as little as 45 minutes, while a full-size graze can take up to two hours for set-up. We have an order to things going down on the table so your meats and cheeses won’t come off the ice until about 45 minutes before your event begins. This helps your graze last as long as possible from a food-safety perspective.
Can we set up my table outdoors in hot weather?
Yes, but there are limitations to how long the food can sit out safely. In very hot temperatures (above 90 or in direct sun), we strongly suggest limiting access to the table to one hour. Whenever possible, a shaded spot for your table is encouraged. Because we build elevated graze displays, we cannot use ice packs under the food to prolong safe consumption.
Do you offer pickup?
Not currently, no. We expect that to change in the near future though!
Do you ship?
No, not at this time.
How much notice do you need to order a graze table?
We need at least 48 hours for board orders. We require a minimum of five days for a Mini Graze, and a full week for Medium or Full-size graze tables. On occasion, we can work with shorter timeframes but it all depends on our availability.
How far will you deliver?
For board orders, we have a 30-minute radius from the Far West End. For events, we service within 1-hour of Richmond. Please note that the distance of your event may incur additional Delivery and Collection fees. We’ll make sure to cover this in your quote so there are no surprise fees!
How many people can you fit in a charcuterie workshop?
We require a minimum eight participants for workshops, with a maximum of 24.
What’s included in your charcuterie workshop?
A lot! We cover how to source, cut, and style cheeses and charcuterie; pairing ideas for jams and spreads, where to buy supplies, and more. We also provide customized tastings. Quite often, our workshop participants will get to taste housemade specialties, such as our beet-cured salmon, wine jelly, and other items. You can learn more on our Workshops page here
Do I have to buy the supplies for your workshop?
We bring all the food and supplies needed for your workshop, including boxes to bring your completed charcuterie board home with you. We do not currently provide a space, tables, or chairs. We also do not provide beverages of any sort.
Do you offer a virtual option for your Charcuterie Workshop?
Not at this time.
